Bastar Palace is one of the prime tourist attractions in Jagdalpur. Built by the rulers of the Bastar state, the palace was renowned as the headquarters of the Bastar kingdom. Dalpat Sagar is a historic artificial lake located in the city of Bhilai in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh. The lake was created in the 17th century by Raja Dalpat Deo Kakatiya as a water source for his kingdom. The lake covers an area of approximately 350 acres and is surrounded by beautiful gardens and temples. Activities in Dalpat Sagar lake includes Boating in the evenings & Sunset watching.
Located at the city center, Danteshwari temple is one of the most prominent & iconic temple of Jagdalpur. It is a old temple dedicated to Goddess Maa Danteshwari. The temple adjoins Bastar Palace. Chiselled out of black stone, the idol of the Goddess is supposed to possess divine powers. Every year during Dusshera, all the tribals and locals from surrounding towns and villages come to this temple to pay respect to the Goddess.
Dedicated to Lord Balaji or Shri Venkateshwara Swamy, the lord of the universe, this temple was built by the efforts of many devotees who wished to pray to the lord easily and closer to their home. The Zonal Anthropological museum was established in Jagdalpur in 1972, to provide an insight into the culture and lifestyle of the Bastar tribe. The museum has a brilliant and well-curated collection of ethnographic items that shed light on the life of Bastar tribes. Artworks depicting their daily life, sculptures, a variety of objects like clothes, footwear, headgear, ornaments, wood carvings, weapons, utensils and masks among many others can be seen here. It is an excellent window to gain an understanding of the lifestyle of ‘Adivasis’ of Bastar.
Jagdalpur Museum has been established in the year 1988. This museum is situated in the central government building in the city. The collection and display of antiquities received from places like Gadhdanora, Kesharpal, Pathri, Tulu Dongar, Kesharpal, Garhiya etc. are mainly in this museum. Two-ephemeral record obtained from the statue of Vishnu, Asnastha Nrishingh, Parvati and small Dengaar, received and displayed from Bidhuji station, seen from Gadhdanora is very important.
